Construction Construction House
Construction

The construction time varies depending on the size and complexity of the project, but we would expect to get the main shell erected and water tight within 7 days.

All that is required is a suitable foundation which would be dictated by the overall finish of the building i.e. timber cladding, render or timber cladding etc.

Quality

The quality of the construction would be as you would expect and no different than that of a timber frame built house. We only use the best quality materials and you can request any variations at the time of placing the order. We will make every effort to assist you with variations that you may request once the project has started.

What are SIPs

SIPs are manufactured in controlled factory conditions and each panel comprises of 2 sheets of OSB (Oriented Stranded Board) which sandwich a core of CFC free, ODP zero closed cell foam insulation, these are bonded to each other giving an extremely strong and thermally efficient panel.

The panels are custom made for each project so that once on site the construction process is both quick and efficient with virtually zero wastage. Thickness of panels vary either 100mm, 125mm, 150mm.

The advantage of this method of construction is that you have built in insulation giving excellent u-value with virtual air tightness.

Because of the strength of each panel this allows for flexibility of design, as area’s such as roof space can be made habitable with relative ease and for nominal extra expense.

The external finishes can be of any type from a conventional brick to render or a variety of timber cladding whichever meets your design requirements.

Fire

SIPs panels meet Building Regulations with regards to fire when internal finishes are plasterboard either single layer giving 30 minute or 2 layers giving 60 minute rating similar to that of timber frame houses.
